Does Kindergarten start at the same time as the other grades?
Yes. Kindergarten starts at 8:30 a.m.

What time does Kindergarten end?
Kindergarten ends at 3:30 p.m.

Does Kindergarten have a tuition fee? 
No.

Snacks and Lunch

Do I need to send a snack with my child?
Yes, students will have a morning snack/recess. Snacks are provided by the parents.  

When is snack eaten?
Snack is eaten right before recess in the middle of the morning.

What type/kind of snack are encouraged?
Non-perishable cereal, veggie chips, dried fruit, crackers, cheese, and pretzels are some examples of snacks.

 

Communication

How will I find out about special programs such as field trips and assemblies?
Communications will be provided through the Friday Principal Update, the school app (coming soon!), and your classroom teacher.

New and Returning Families Kindergarten through 8th Grade

Is the schedule the same as usual for the first day of school?
Yes, at each level the schedule is the same on the first day as it is throughout the school year.

Are snacks allowed?
Yes, your child can bring a healthy snack to school that they will be allowed to eat at some point during mid-morning. 

Is there anything special I should know about regarding the first day of school?
On the first day of school, traditionally students will assemble on the soccer field. We will then say the pledge of allegiance, sing the school song, and introduce staff. Eighth graders will then walk our new kindergarten students to their class for their first day and on the last day, the kindergarteners walk the 8th graders out for their final day. It is requested that families drop their students off and do not stay for the welcoming assembly, in order to make the transition easier on all.

How do we pay for our children's hot lunches?
Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students. A la carte items can be purchased. To manage accounts, visit: School Cafe

If we use School Cafe', how does my child use it at school?
Once you add money onto School Cafe' it then goes directly into your students account just like cash or checks would. The Cafeteria Manager will deduct from the account once the student types in his/her ID#. 

How do I get my student's ID # to sign up for School Cafe'?
It is next to your student's name in Jeffco Connect. You can also call the school. After school pictures are taken a photo ID will be sent home with your child and it will also have the child's ID # on it. Students are required to learn their ID# to use in the cafeteria each day they have hot lunch.

How do I know how much money is in my School Cafe' account?
You must log-in to your students' account.

Busing

Is there busing to and from JA CCC?

No, because we are a charter school (choice enrollment), busing is not offered. If students are enrolled in a private before & after school program, they may offer transportation. Please check with your individual program.
