JACCC principal update

August 9, 2024

Dear JA Coal Creek Canyon Families,

We are excited to get the school year started and are looking forward to getting face to face with all of our families on Monday. Here are a couple of notes and reminders to prepare us all for a great start to the school year.

Super Monday Class Selection:

There are still some students that are not signed up for Super Monday classes. In order to build schedules and have them ready to go by the first Super Monday we need to have all class choices complete by Tuesday, August 13th. If you did not receive a confirmation that your child is signed up please register again. If you are sure you registered and did not receive a confirmation please reach out to me at cmott@jajags.com and I can see if you are on the list. If you are not registered by the end of the day on Tuesday we will place students in grade level appropriate classes. Please note: Kindergarten and 1st grades will stay with their classes the entire day, so no selections are necessary for those grade levels. To submit your choices, please visit the following webpage: https://www.thesummitacademy.org/jacoalcreeksupermondayclasschoices. We look forward to offering an engaging and enriching Super Monday program for your children. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

EagleCare (After School Care):

Intent to enroll forms are closed for the time being until we can get one more qualified staff member hired. If you sent in your form, you should have received another form and more information for the next step of registration. We could potentially open the Intent Form up again if we end up having space for more kids. Staffing has been our biggest struggle to get this and our Pre-K program up and running. Our first priority is to make sure our students are well taken care of so hiring quality staff is top of mind. If you know of anyone who would be interested in full or part time in our Pre-K/EagleCare program, please have them reach out to Carol Wilson at cwilson@jajags.com.

Community Hands-On Deck:

We’re having desks arrive in the building on Monday, August 12th if anyone is available to help assemble and move desks from 9:30-12:30. We could use some extra hands!

Meet and Greet Reminder:

August 12th at 6pm is our Meet & Greet Night. It's a great chance to get to know each other and learn more about what the new school year holds. There will be a quick Principal welcome and then families will be released to visit classrooms. Teachers will hold two identical 30 minute sessions (6:15-6:45 pm and 6:50-7:20 pm) to account for families who have more than one student. If you have more than two children attending JA/CCC please reach out and we will make sure you get the information you need. Since we are still moving furniture around we ask that students do not bring school supplies to Meet and Greet. They can bring them on the first day of school.

Back to School Picnic/BBQ:

The new JA CCC PTO members are in discussion about a Back to School Picnic/BBQ one or two weeks after school starts. More information will be sent out once those plans have been finalized.

Electronic School Forms:

Please use this link to access the school based forms that we need signed for the school year. Some forms require a parent and student signature so please make sure everyone has done their part before submitting them.

Lace Up for the Jag Jog:

Mark your calendar for the Jag Jog on August 24th at 9am, an energetic K-12 event for all JA & Summit families hosted by The Foundation for JA. This community event features a timed 5K, 1-Mile Family Dash, and a Community Expo. This year we have added food trucks (items available for purchase) and other fun family options. It will take place on the elementary campus track (9955 Yarrow St, Broomfield, CO, 80021), with the race portions on the Dry Creek Trail. This is a great way to connect with the entire JA community! Register here for the event.

If you have a business that would like to have a booth in the Community Expo (vendor fair), sign up here.

Website Update:

This website is now your go-to source for current information. We're busy behind the scenes adding information to enhance the website experience. Please forgive any incomplete information shown, as we are still a work in progress. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Together, we’re poised for another fantastic year of growth and achievement. Please reach out with any questions, thoughts, or if you plan to assist us with the furniture setup. Your involvement is what makes our school community exceptional.

Warm regards,

Carrie Mott
