Back to School BBQ:

Thank you to the PTO for organizing our Back to School BBQ on Wednesday. It was great to see families come out to celebrate the beginning of the school year. A special thank you to the Westminster Chamber of Commerce for bringing the ribbon and giant scissors for the ribbon cutting.

Picture Day

We will have individual pictures taken on Wednesday, September 11th, from 8:30-11. Homeschool families are welcome to come  during this time frame for individual pictures. We will also gather for an all school picture around 11am if homeschool students would like to be a part of that. We will take another picture with full time students, homeschool students and staff later in the year if you are unable to make it.. Picture forms are in today’s Friday Folder. Please do not return the forms with cash, if you would like to order pictures, please follow the directions on the picture form to order online. Also, to prevent the “floating head” special effect please avoid dressing your child in green.

Lockdown Drill

Per district guidelines we will be doing our yearly lockdown drill on Thursday, September 12th with the support of district and local officials. Students will be shown a video leading up to the drill and will be fully instructed by their teachers in the lockdown drill process before Thursday's drill. We ask that you reinforce the importance of following all teacher instructions during the drill with your children. No one will be allowed to enter or leave the building during the drill. Thank you for your support.

Drop-Off and Free Breakfast (Repeated):

Students not wanting to enjoy free breakfast can be dropped off as early as 8:10 am and go straight to the playground. Please make sure students are not released from your car until this time. For safety reasons we never want students to be left unattended on the playground. We are also  a small staff and want to respect all  teachers' morning prep time so they can give their best to the students from the minute they walk through the door.

If your child wants free breakfast they are welcome to enter the building at 8:10am and go directly to the cafeteria. Breakfast service will be offered daily from 8:10am-8:25am.  Students will be asked to finish their breakfast by 8:28am and will be directed to their homeroom.  To avoid having little critters in classrooms students will not be allowed to finish breakfast in their classroom. Homeschoolers are also eligible for free breakfast AND lunch on Mondays, like all students. Please make sure that if your child wants breakfast, they are here as close to 8:10 as possible so they have plenty of time to eat.

We need your help! Volunteer Opportunities: (If interested in volunteering contact the office)

  • Flexible volunteers who are willing to float between larger number classes on Super Monday.

  • Morning playground duty, cafeteria and afternoon parking lot duty.

Band:

The halls were alive with the sound of music.

Mrs.Gardner kicked off the band program this week for our 4th-8th graders and the enthusiasm of the students is real.  We appreciate parent  offers for support of supplies. We will be in touch if we need anything throughout the year.
