Principal Update 10.04.24

October 4, 2024

Before School Care:

We are excited to announce that we may be able to offer before school care in the next couple of weeks. Before we start planning for care we are wanting to gauge interest with the community. If you are in need of before school care please email cwilson@jajags.com, before Friday, October 11, 2024.

Fun Run/ Butterfly Pavilion field trip:

We still need drivers for this field trip, we only have enough seats for 22 children and need to transport up to 70 students. If you are able to drive we would like you not only to consider driving your own  child/children but also a couple more students to help make this day possible.  Please fill out the permission slip and driver information forms that were sent out last week and return them as soon as possible. If you have misplaced the forms feel free to pick them up in the office.

Here are the times and locations students will need transportation. Leave JACCC around 8:45 am and arrive at  JA Elementary for the Fun Run  by 9:30am, drive to the Butterfly Pavilion around 11:15am and drive back to JACCC around 2pm. Our younger/smaller students will need car seats so we want to make sure we have enough drivers to accommodate all of our students. You will need to provide a driver's license and proof of insurance to the office to be able to drive students.

Homeschool Families your students are invited to join us for the Fun Run Fundraiser and on the field trip. We need to know by October 10th so we can make sure we have enough drivers and can get a Fun Run t-shirt for them. Please stop in or call the office and let us know if your student would like to participate.

Parent Teacher Conferences:

Parent teacher conferences are next week on October 10th. To foster the parent, teacher and student connection that we feel is so important to the growth of our students, we would love all parents to attend a conference. Sign ups were sent out by classroom teachers this week, if you did not receive the link please reach out to the teacher. As a reminder there will be no school on October 10th, 11th and 14th.

If you are wanting to meet with our amazing Library/Tech teacher Mrs. Royer (kroyer@jajags.com),  please email her to schedule a conference time.

Current 4th-7th Grade Band Students:

Mrs. Gardner is providing optional 1-on-1 mini lessons to band/orchestra on October 10th between 8am - 3pm. Lessons can be in person or on zoom and will last 20 minutes. If interested, you can sign up for a slot here:  Band/orch mini lesson sign up

Mrs. Gardner is also available for parent conferences throughout the day on Thursday Oct 10th, when she is not working with students. Please feel free to pop in, or email her at lgardner@jajags.com to set up a time.

Haunted Halls Donations:

Please support our middle school students in creating an amazing Haunted Halls event during Trick or Treat Street. They are looking for donations of Halloween themed decorations,-cobwebs, spiders, tombstones, gold spray paint, black butcher paper, various sized mason jars, aluminum foil, toilet paper, flickering candles, eyeballs, snakes. Items will not be able to be returned. There is a collection box for donations in the office. The middle schoolers thank you in advance.

PTO Membership Drive and Trick or Treat Street:

PTO Meetings

The next PTO meeting will be on October 16th @ 4 pm in the JACCC library. All families are welcome to attend. We are in need of a parent volunteer or a middle school student to provide supervision for kids during the meeting. If you or your middle schooler is able to help please call the office at (720)719-3003. We look forward to meeting with all of you.

PTO Membership Drive

There will be information coming soon about how to sign up for your families PTO membership and pay your PTO dues. This is a great way to get some money in the PTO fund to start funding our yearly events such as Treat or Treat Street and more. We want to be able to keep the great traditions that CCC has built alive and these dues will help make them happen. The dues for the year will be $25 per family with 1 child/$40 per family with 2 or more children

October Count Days

Thank you for your support in getting students to school for these important count days. We have 2 more days to go to earn our funding. October 1st-8th are the state October Count Days where our attendance will be tracked for per pupil revenue. It is important for students to attend these days so we can get the appropriate state funding for our school. We never want students to come to school if they are ill but if at all possible we would love to see 100% attendance during this time….Monday the 8th still counts!! Thank you for your support.

Happy Numbers

Homeschool families, we use an online math program at JACCC called Happy Numbers. We have a few extra licenses available and would like to offer them to our homeschool students free of charge. Click  here to check out the website. Please stop in or call the office if you are interested.
