Drop off on the east side of campus - Students must be dropped off at the curb for safety or please wait until you make the turn in the parking lot by the staff member assisting with traffic.  For safety reasons, do not drop your students off while in the 2nd lane where staff is not there to assist. 

Authors Club - This is a new club for 4th - 6th grade students. Students will create a story that will be published. They will have an opportunity to read and share in a culminating activity. This club will meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. beginning November 14. For more information and to register use this link.

Drama Club -  Mrs. Ballard offers drama club for 5th & 6th grade students. There will be an information meeting on November 11 from 3:00 - 4:00 in the intermediate music room.   Please check your commitments before signing up for drama club.  If students miss more than two of our rehearsals or have to consistently leave rehearsals early, their part may be given away. Spelling Bee Club  - 4th, 5th & 6th grade students unlock the power of words! This club is the perfect place to challenge yourself and have fun. Practice with friends, boost your confidence, and prepare for exciting competitions. Don't miss out on the chance to become a word wizard—join the Spelling Bee Club today! Chess Club -(Winter Session)  - Calling all 3-6th graders. Join the chess club and become a master of strategy! You'll have fun learning new moves, challenging friends, and solving tricky puzzles. Whether you're a beginner or already know the basics, you'll improve your skills while making new friends! We will meet on Mondays from Nov 11st- January 31st. Sign up HERE.

Talk to the Camera 2 (Winter Season) -  Movie Magic (grades 3 - 6th)  Young filmmakers work together using a Project Based Learning approach to make a movie! Students actively engage in all aspects of a professional film set. They become directors, film crew and actors-- honing their craft, building their critical thinking skills and gaining a sense of ownership. *Families will receive an edited movie a few weeks after the final class date.Register HERE. D & D Club! - Calling all 5-6th graders, we will be offering a new club in our Winter session from November 14th - Jan 30th. Joining a Dungeons & Dragons club offers your child a unique opportunity to develop creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fun and imaginative environment. Through storytelling and role-playing, students enhance their critical thinking and communication abilities, all while building friendships and working together to achieve goals. The game fosters a sense of community, encourages positive social interaction, and allows kids to explore their creativity in a safe, inclusive setting. Plus, it's an engaging way for them to practice math and reading without even realizing it...and it's free! Reserve your spot HERE. Numbers are limited to 10 students and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis through the Google Form. 

Prospective Family Nights

Jefferson Academy Elementary will host this event on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. This is for students and their families currently not attending JA going into PreK - 6th grade this next school year. Families will have the opportunity to meet staff and tour the school. 

Jefferson Academy Secondary will be hosting our annual Prospective Family Open House on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.  Please stop by for a student-led tour and the opportunity to meet our amazing staff and learn all that JA has to offer!  Visit our website for more information at secondary.jajags.com.  

PTO News

Fun Run is Coming!  Fun Run is on Friday November 1, so be sure to mark your calendar to come out and cheer on your child(ren) during the run.  

Fun Run Volunteers Needed - We still need a few more volunteers to step up to make Fun Run a huge success. There are a multitude of opportunities available both before the event and on the day of - everything from shirt sorting in the days before to lap marking and playing Jingo Jaguar (our beloved Mascot) on the day of the actual event. Use the SignUp Genius link to reserve your spot to help make this event a HUGE success!

Fun Run Registration is Open - Speaking of Fun Run - Registration for the event is now open. Head over to mybooster.com to get your child(ren) registered for our largest fundraiser of the year. If at least 75% of our students are registered by 10/31/24, ALL STUDENTS will receive a popsicle party! Let's blow that number out of the water and set a record for the number of students registered for Fun Run. Registration is FREE, and all students registered receive a cool prize! The schedule for Fun Run will be posted soon.  As a reminder on the fun run day of November 1, please be mindful of parking as we will have many families coming (carpooling is highly suggested).  Do not park on 99th avenue.
